It’s the holidays, which means it’s time for rush, rush, rush. From shopping for gifts (you’re doing that online, right?) to hosting and attending dinners and parties, and decorating, and holiday travel or guests, or… whew! It’s a lot. It’s easy to get so bogged down in the doing for everyone else that you forget to take a little time for yourself.
This season, make time for someone extra special—you. It doesn’t need to be a lot, and it doesn’t need to be fancy. But find a moment here and there to indulge in what sustains you. Maybe it’s a glass of great wine in front of the fire, or snuggling under a pretty throw with someone you love. Maybe it’s a walk through the park with your furry pal. Whatever it is that helps you to unwind and relax.
Having trouble finding time for even one of those simple pleasures? Try turning bedtime into a short, simple ritual that includes a soothing bath. All it takes is 15 minutes at the end of the day.
Light a scented candle , pour yourself a glass of water (you don’t want wine right before going to bed), and start the water. Add some soothing, organic lavender bath salts and you’re on your way to bliss. Turn the experience into something even more sensual with a soft, luxurious horsehair brush to gentle clean your skin.
Just 15 minutes in a warm bath is enough to ease aching muscles and soothe an overworked mind. It’s a relaxing experience, and since you’re doing it right before bed, it doesn’t take that much out of your day. It’s a few minutes of special “you” time that will send you off to sleep in a wonderful space, and help you wake up ready to tackle another busy day of the holiday season.
Go ahead, indulge and enjoy!
