It’s October, time for apple cider and all things fabulous and fall! If you’re lucky enough to live near an organic orchard where you can pick your own fruit, you know the joy of truly fresh apples. And you probably also know the joy of truly good apple cider. Nothing says fall quite like a hot spiced cider, so we’ve gathered a few of our favorite grown-up cider recipes. Try these with your favorite locally-produced organic cider (and sure, you could always buy an organic cider at the store if local isn’t an option)! Summertime and the living is… thirsty! Picnics and cookouts and barbecues and beaches and more. Sunny days and warm nights mean outdoor parties and all that play in the hot summer sun is thirsty work! Lemonade and sangria are summer stand bys, but there are plenty of other choices out there for refreshing warm weather treats. We’ve got some ideas that will quench that thirst; they start out kid friendly and then we offer a grown-up twist. Green Cocktails

OK, if you want to drink organic beer, especially if it’s locally produced, by all means, enjoy a green beer. But let’s skip the food-coloring-enhanced “green” beers that dominate our favorite bars on the 17th of each March. Then again, why stick with beer? There are plenty of festive options, and with organic liquors, juices and mixers, they can be a whole lot greener than those green beers you’ve quaffed in the past.
